| Description de l’avers | Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Hadrian facing right, depicted with his characteristic short beard, rendered in the Greek provincial style. The effigy shows fine detail in the laurel wreath and hair treatment, consistent with Hadrianic portraiture of the mid-second century AD. The surrounding field carries a Greek imperial titulature legend reading from left to right around the periphery of the flan. The strike is slightly off-centre on an irregularly shaped flan, typical of provincial hammered coinage of the period. |

The goddess is depicted in a formal, hieratic pose befitting her divine status as queen of the Olympian gods, a type particularly appropriate for the city of Amisus. The reverse legend in Greek encircles the field, citing the city name, its status as a free city, and the local civic year ΡΞΖ (167 of the Pontic era, corresponding to 135-136 AD). |
