| Reverse description | Salus, the goddess of health and well-being, stands facing left beside a flaming altar, rendered in a long flowing robe. She holds a patera in her extended right hand over the altar and a rudder or sceptre in her left hand, while feeding a serpent that rises coiling from the altar at her feet. The reverse legend SALVS AVGG is inscribed around the field, referencing the well-being of the two Augusti (Tetricus I and Tetricus II). The composition reflects standard late third-century iconographic conventions for the Salus type within the Gallic Empire coinage. |
