Obverse description Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Tetricus I facing right, wearing a pronounced radiate crown with outward-pointing spikes, characteristic of the antoninianus denomination. The emperor is depicted with short curled hair and a short beard, rendered in the distinctive late Gallic Empire style. The obverse legend IMP TETRICVS PF AVG runs around the periphery, partially visible against a beaded border. The portraiture exhibits the somewhat crude yet vigorous engraving typical of the Cologne mint during the final phase of the Gallic Empire.
