| Beschrijving voorzijde | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximianus facing right, rendered in the vigorous late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Tetrarchic period. The radiate crown, composed of pointed rays, identifies the denomination as an antoninianus. The emperor's bust is shown with a short beard, draped paludamentum over the cuirass, with the drapery visible at the left shoulder. The encircling legend IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG runs clockwise around the periphery of the flan. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Jupiter strides energetically to the right, nude save for a chlamys billowing behind him, his head turned slightly upward. In his raised right hand he brandishes a thunderbolt, while his left hand holds a long sceptre or eagle-tipped staff. The composition conveys divine martial power, a hallmark of Tetrarchic religious iconography associating Maximianus with Hercules and Jupiter. The reverse legend IOVI FVLGERATORI is distributed around the field, and the exergue bears the officina mark IS (Greek numeral indicating the sixth officina of the Cyzicus mint), with the mint mark XXI denoting the billon standard of 1 part silver to 20 parts alloy. |
