She holds an olive branch in her extended right hand and a transverse sceptre or staff in her left, the standard iconographic attributes of the Pax type. The figure's drapery is summarily indicated, with details blurred by the overstrike and the crude engraving. The legend PAX AVG surrounds the figure in the field. The flat, irregular flan and weak strike betray the non-official character of the piece, with ghosting from the undertype visible in places. |
