Obverse description Central field occupied by the sultan's name legend in Arabic script, struck in two lines reading 'Murad ibn Ahmad / Khan', identifying the issuing sovereign as Sultan Murad IV, son of Ahmed I. The inscription is rendered in the characteristic angular Ottoman calligraphic style typical of early 17th-century akce coinage. The flan is small, thin, and irregular in outline, a natural consequence of the hand-hammered production technique. Strike is moderately well-centered with some weakness at the periphery, and the surfaces display the dark grey patina characteristic of low-weight Ottoman silver. No decorative border or geometric frame is present, the lettering filling the entire available field.
