Between the two deities at their feet stands a small lighted altar, a votive element underscoring the sacred character of the encounter. The composition, featuring the city's two divine patrons in a face-to-face arrangement, is characteristic of the civic pride expressed in the autonomous coinage of Asia Minor under the Severan dynasty. The reverse legend encircling the scene records the magistrate responsible for the issue and identifies the civic community of the Acrasians. |
