| Descrizione del rovescio | A figure, identified as either the emperor Severus Alexander or the mythological hero Leukippos, mounted on a prancing horse advancing to the right, wearing a military chlamys and with arm raised to cast a spear at a kneeling enemy before him; to the right of the composition stands a lighted altar. Beneath the horse, a dog runs to the right, adding a hunting or heroic iconographic element characteristic of provincial civic coinage. The reverse field is populated with the magistrate's legend in Greek. The overall composition combines imperial military imagery with local mythological or civic tradition particular to Magnesia ad Maeandrum. |
