The juxtaposition of the two civic deities embodies the Homonoia (concord) between Laodicea ad Lycum and Ephesus. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, names both cities and proclaims their alliance. The composition is rendered in the monumental style characteristic of large provincial bronzes of the Severan-Philippi period. |
