Alinda was a Carian hill-town whose coins are rare enough that individual magistrates' names — here Ar. Kor. Menippos — can be cross-referenced across a handful of surviving types. The city's association with Herakles on this issue is unsurprising given Carian civic religion, but the specific formula ΔΕΞΙΟΥΜΕΝΟΣ ΗΡΑΚΛΗΝ ΔΟΣΕΙ, referencing a reception or gift-giving scene with Herakles, appears on a very limited run of Alindean bronzes and is not attested in the broader Alabanda conventus with any frequency.
Septimius Severus's provincial coinage in Asia Minor surged after 193, when cities competed to issue loyalty pieces following his victory in the civil war against Pescennius Niger.
