| 背面描述 | Two deities stand facing one another in the field: to the left, Artemis stands facing right, wearing a Phrygian cap, in the act of drawing an arrow from the quiver at her shoulder while holding her bow; to the right, Mên stands facing left, wearing a Phrygian cap, holding a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left. The composition reflects the syncretic religious character of Carian Tabae, where Hellenic and Anatolian cult traditions were honoured jointly. The reverse legend, naming the archon Apollonios and the city of Tabae, runs around the periphery. The figures are rendered in the robust, somewhat provincial style typical of Carian bronze coinage of the Severan period. |
