| Opis rewersu | Zeus enthroned to the left, depicted in the Pheidian tradition, his semi-draped figure seated upon an ornate throne with a high back visible to the right. In his extended right hand he holds a small figure of Nike, and in his left hand a long sceptre. An eagle stands to the left in the field, facing the deity — a standard attribute of Zeus and a hallmark of Alexandrian reverse iconography. The regnal date legend L ΙΖ (Year 17) appears in the field, dating the issue to the seventeenth year of Trajan's reign in the Egyptian calendar (113–114 AD). |
