| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Elagabalus facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the cuirass rendered in relief detail. The youthful imperial effigy displays a prominent laurel wreath and long curling locks falling behind the neck, characteristic of the emperor's portraiture. The obverse legend runs around the periphery in Greek characters. The flan is broad and slightly irregular, typical of provincial bronze issues of the Severan period. |
