Atop the monument stands a quadriga driven by a statue of the Emperor, commemorating his Parthian triumph. The date regnal year legend L Κ (year 20) appears in the field to the right of the arch. The architectural type is closely associated with Trajan's Parthian campaign commemorations as rendered by the Alexandrian mint. |
