正面铭文 ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ
(Translation: Emperor Trajan Augustus Germanicus Dacicus)
背面描述 Two standing female figures occupy the reverse field. At left, Demeter stands facing with head turned to the right, holding a long torch in one hand and ears of grain in the other, her attire rendered in flowing drapery. To her right, Euthenia — the personification of abundance — stands facing with head turned left, leaning against a column, and holding ears of grain and a sceptre. The pairing of Demeter and Euthenia reflects the Alexandrian emphasis on agricultural fertility and prosperity. The regnal date appears in the field in Greek numerals.

附加信息

Year 17 of Trajan's reign corresponds to one of the most logistically intense periods of his administration — the buildup to the Parthian campaign, which would launch in 114 AD. Alexandria's mint was producing heavily during this stretch, partly because Egypt's grain revenues and military provisioning made it a financial anchor for eastern operations. The L ΙΖ dating formula, unique to Alexandrian bronzes, reflects the Egyptian regnal calendar rather than the Roman consular system.

The III#4784.3 reference places this within Geissen's corpus of Alexandrian bronzes, a notoriously difficult series to attribute precisely given die proliferation at this mint.
