| Popis rubu | Three nymphs standing frontally in close register, each draped in a long chiton and himation, jointly holding or supporting a large water vessel (hydria or water jar) from which water flows, referencing the celebrated spring cult associated with Germe. The figures are rendered in a hieratic, symmetrical composition typical of Mysian civic bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. The encircling Greek legend, divided across the upper and lower fields, names the local magistrate responsible for the issue and identifies the civic community. |
