Sarapis is enthroned at centre-left, facing left, holding a long sceptre, with Cerberus seated at his feet. To the left stands Isis Pharia, facing left with head turned right, extending a billowing sail. To the right stands a veiled figure identified as Demeter, facing left, holding what appears to be a torc or wreath. The composition is a rare and theologically significant representation of the Alexandrian syncretic cult, rendered with considerable detail despite the provincial medium. |
