| 背面描述 | Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, stands facing left in full figure, draped in a long chiton and himation. In her extended right hand she holds a rudder, symbol of divine guidance over the city's destiny, while her left hand bears a Dionysiac herm, an attribute particularly appropriate to Mytilene given the island of Lesbos's strong association with Dionysiac cult. The figure is rendered in a dignified, frontal-leaning stance characteristic of Mytilenean civic types of the Valerianic period. The Greek reverse legend encircles the field, divided by the figure, naming the local magistrate and the civic community. |
