| Obverse lettering | ΑΥ ΚΑΙ ΓΑ ΜΕ Κ ΤΡΑ ΔΕΚΙΟϹ (Translation: Emperor Caesar Gaius Messius Quintus Traianus Decius) |
| Reverse description | The emperor Trajan Decius is depicted standing in a quadriga — a four-horse chariot — driven to the right, raising his right arm in a gesture of adlocutio or triumph. The horses are rendered in lively motion, and a charioteer figure appears at the reins. A ground line separates the main type from the lower field, where part of the reverse legend appears. The surrounding Greek inscription, divided between the upper and lower fields, names the local archon Stratonikos and identifies the issuing city of Aphrodisias. |
