| Beschrijving keerzijde | The river god Maeandros personified as a reclining male figure turned to the left, holding a cornucopia in one arm and resting his elbow upon an overturned vase from which water flows, symbolising the river's source. A palm branch rises behind the figure. The composition is a standard provincial type for the Maeander river, rendered in the hammered bronze tradition of Asian Greek civic coinage. The encircling legend identifies the issuing city and the deity depicted. |
