| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, viewed from the rear, with the emperor's characteristic bearded portrait rendered in the provincial style. The bust displays military dress with visible paludamentum and scale armor. A circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, naming the emperor in full with his titles. The portrait typology is consistent with provincial coinage of the Ephesian conventus struck under his reign. |

| Reverse description | The emperor Septimius Severus depicted as an equestrian warrior, mounted on a horse galloping to the right, with his right arm raised and thrusting a spear downward toward a bound captive fallen beneath the horse's hooves. The composition conveys imperial military triumph and is a well-known type on provincial bronzes of the Severan period. The Greek legend is distributed around the field, naming the local magistrate Hermogenes and recording his double tenure as stephanephoros and first strategos. The reverse type and magistrate inscription are characteristic of civic bronze coinage from Hypaepa in Lydia. |
