Obverse description Diademed and draped bust of Otacilia Severa facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Lydian mint at Blaundus. The empress wears an elaborate coiffure with wavy hair drawn back, and a diadem across the brow, with drapery visible at the truncation. The Greek legend Μ ΩΤΑΚ ϹΕΒΗΡΑ ϹΕΒ encircles the effigy, identifying her as Marcia Otacilia Severa Augusta, consort of Philip I. The flan is slightly irregular, and the surface shows an olive-green patina consistent with long-term burial.
