| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, viewed from the rear, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the cuirass rendered in detail. The youthful imperial effigy displays characteristic short-cropped hair beneath the laurel wreath. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor by his titulature. The flan is slightly irregular, as is typical of provincial bronze issues of this period. |
