Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, the emperor portrayed with characteristic beard and wreath of laurel leaves. The effigy displays the conventional Antonine portrait type used on Alexandrian provincial coinage. A circular Greek legend runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The coin exhibits a dark green patina consistent with Egyptian bronze issues of the mid-second century AD.

Reverse description Heracles standing and advancing to the right, the lion skin draped around his neck, his body depicted frontally as he raises his club to strike the Lernaean Hydra coiled on the ground before him to the right. The scene illustrates the Second Labour of Heracles and is rendered in the dynamic, if summary, style typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage. The date legend L ΔΕΚΑΤΟΥ appears in the field, indicating the tenth regnal year of Antoninus Pius.
