| 正面铭文 | ΑΥΤ Κ Γ ΜΕϹ ΤΡΑΙ ΔΕΚΙΝ ϹΕΒ (Translation: for Emperor Caesar Gaius Messius Traianus Decius Augustus) |
| 背面描述 | Zeus enthroned to left on a high-backed throne, his body draped, extending his right hand to hold a small figure of Nike and grasping a long vertical sceptre with his left hand. The feet rest upon a low footstool. The composition is characteristic of the civic Zeus types widely employed by Phrygian mints during the mid-third century. The ethnic legend of the Synnadeans encircles the design in the field. |

Synnada, a Phrygian city best known in antiquity for its marble quarries — the *marmor Synnadicum* prized by Roman emperors for luxury construction — struck this provincial bronze during the two-year reign of Trajan Decius, the first emperor to die in battle against a foreign enemy. His campaign against the Goths at Abrittus in 251 ended in catastrophe, and coin production under his name at provincial mints like Synnada halted abruptly with his death, leaving the entire series compressed into an unusually narrow window.
