| 正面描述 | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian I facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder visible beneath the muscled cuirass. The emperor's bearded portrait is rendered in the mature provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic coinage of the Severan era. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy within a dotted border, reading ΑΥ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟϹ ϹΕΜ ΡΩΜ ΑΦΡΙ ϹΕΒ, identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The coin exhibits a brownish-olive patina with traces of green corrosion, and bears a small hole at the centre of the portrait, likely the result of secondary use as a pendant or weight. |
