The effigy displays a radiate crown of laurel, with paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the shoulder and the scales of the cuirass visible beneath. The Greek imperial legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the bold, high-relief engraving typical of Mytilenean civic bronzes struck under the joint reign of Valerian and Gallienus. |
