The composition reflects the standard iconographic formula for civic Tyche on provincial bronzes of Bithynia and Pontus. The ethnic legend ΑΜΑϹΤΡΙΑΝΩΝ is disposed around the periphery of the field within a beaded border, identifying the issuing city of Amastris. The surface displays an attractive olive-green patina consistent with burial and excavation. |
