| Description du revers | Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, is depicted seated to the left upon a high-backed throne, robed in a chiton and himation, holding a small Nike figure in her extended right hand and a long sceptre in her left. The composition reflects the standard iconographic formula for civic Tyche on provincial bronzes of Bithynia and Pontus. The ethnic legend ΑΜΑϹΤΡΙΑΝΩΝ is disposed around the periphery of the field within a beaded border, identifying the issuing city of Amastris. The surface displays an attractive olive-green patina consistent with burial and excavation. |
