| Beschrijving keerzijde | Dionysus, the god of wine, stands facing left in a relaxed contrapposto pose, his body partially draped. He extends his right hand to offer a cantharus (deep wine cup) and holds a long thyrsus staff in his left hand. At his feet to the left crouches a panther, the traditional companion of the deity, gazing upward. Germe was a minor Mysian city whose civic coinage under Gordian III was administered by a local magistrate — the ΕΠΙ Γ ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΔΟΥ formula names Apollonides as the presiding official, a practice common in the Pergamene conventus where civic authorities retained meaningful control over bronze production. The city struck relatively few types across the third century, making the survival of magistrate-attributed pieces useful for reconstructing the local administrative sequence.
