| 裏面の説明 | Two serpents confronting one another in the field: to the left, the Uraeus (Egyptian royal cobra) depicted erect with hood spread, and to the right, the Agathodaemon (the good serpent-deity of Alexandria) shown rearing with a radiate crown. The pairing of these two sacred serpentine figures reflects the syncretic religious iconography distinctive to Alexandrian provincial coinage. The regnal year inscription L ΚΗ (year 28) appears in the field to the right, dating the issue to the 28th year of the Alexandrian era corresponding to the reign of Commodus. |
