| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style. The emperor's effigy displays a laurel wreath crown with clearly articulated leaves. The circumferential Greek legend, partially worn, surrounds the portrait and identifies the emperor with his full titulature. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges typical of Alexandrian bronze coinage of the period. |

| Reverse description | Two serpents confronting one another in the field: to the left, the Uraeus (Egyptian royal cobra) depicted erect with hood spread, and to the right, the Agathodaemon (the good serpent-deity of Alexandria) shown rearing with a radiate crown. The pairing of these two sacred serpentine figures reflects the syncretic religious iconography distinctive to Alexandrian provincial coinage. The regnal year inscription L ΚΗ (year 28) appears in the field to the right, dating the issue to the 28th year of the Alexandrian era corresponding to the reign of Commodus. |
