The figure is rendered in a sturdy, provincial style with the serpent coiling prominently along the staff at his side. The circular Greek legend ΕΠΙ ϹΤΡ ΔΙΟΔΩΡΟΥ ΠΕΡΓΑΜΗΝΩΝ names the strategos Diodoros and identifies the issuing city of Pergamon, with the inscription continuing beneath the figure in the lower field.
