| Beschrijving keerzijde | Asclepius, god of medicine, standing facing with head turned to the left, his serpent-entwined staff (kerykeion) leaning against him. In his outstretched hands he holds small statuettes of the two Nemeses, the patron goddesses of Smyrna, a distinctive iconographic motif linking the homonoia theme to the civic cults of both cities. The reverse legend, distributed across the field and exergue, records the concord (homonoia) between Smyrna and Pergamon and names the presiding strategos Geminus. |
