| Beschrijving keerzijde | A herm — a sculpted terminal figure of Dionysiac or Priapic type — stands facing on a stepped rectangular base or plinth, with the head turned to the left. The figure holds a pedum (shepherd's crook) in the left hand, a common attribute in Dionysiac iconography. The encircling Greek legend distributed around the field proudly proclaims Nicomedia's twice-granted neocorate status. The composition is rendered in the characteristic flat relief of eastern provincial bronzes of the Severan era. |
