At the base of the hill, a reclining river god is shown to the right, a standard personification of the local waterway associated with the city's geography. The ethnic legend ΑΚΜΟΝΕΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing civic authority. The composition is a rare and elaborate mythological scene characteristic of the ambitious reverse types struck by Phrygian cities under the Severan and later dynasties. |
