A tripod, the sacred attribute of Apollo, is placed to the right of the temple exterior. The architectural rendering reflects the famous Didymaion sanctuary near Miletus, one of the largest temples of the ancient world. The reverse legend naming the Milesians and their magistrate Flavius Minnius Philometor runs around the periphery of the field. |
