The effigy is rendered in low relief typical of provincial bronze coinage, with drapery folds visible at the truncation of the shoulder. The encircling Greek legend names the empress as Augusta. The phi in the legend is rendered in an unusual form resembling a dotted vertical stroke (·I·), a local die-engraver's peculiarity noted in Thyatiran coinage of this period. |

The encircling Greek legend, divided around the type, records the name of the local magistrate (strategos) responsible for the issue and the ethnic of the city of Thyatira. |
