Upon the shield surface, the emperor is depicted on horseback at full gallop, bearing a spear, riding over prostrate foes; to the rear, a bound captive is visible. The composition is an elaborate multi-plane design characteristic of late provincial coinage from Asia Minor. The surrounding legend names the emperor in Greek characters. |

| Opis rewersu | Two prize crowns, each bearing an inscribed legend denoting specific sacred games, displayed upon a draped table with curved legs. Beneath the table, an amphora is flanked symmetrically on either side by two inward-facing palm branches, symbols of athletic and artistic victory. The reverse legend, distributed around the field, identifies the city of Aphrodisias and the festivals whose crowns are represented. The overall composition follows a well-established agonistic reverse type common to civic bronzes of the Severan and later periods in Asia Minor. |
