| 背面描述 | Tetrastyle temple with four columns and an arcuated (arched) lintel, rendered in frontal elevation; within the intercolumniation stands the cult statue of Aphrodite of Aphrodisias facing right, depicted in the distinctive Anatolian xoanon type with rigid, columnar form. The legend ΑΦΡΟΔΕΙϹΙΕΩΝ (of the Aphrodisians) is inscribed in Greek around the type within a beaded border. The temple reverse celebrates the celebrated sanctuary of Aphrodite, the principal civic deity of Aphrodisias, and is characteristic of the city's autonomous bronze coinage under Gallienus. |
