This reverse type reflects the city's neokorate status and its prominent role in the imperial cult during the reign of Commodus. The legend ΚΥΖΙΚΗΝΩΝ ΝΕΟΚΟΡΩΝ distributed around the field identifies the issuing authority and proclaims the city's honorific title as temple-warden. |
