The temple is approached by flights of stairs, and an arched doorway is visible at the entrance. Within the interior of the temple, the figure of Melikertes-Palaimon is shown lying on the back of a dolphin. The temple is flanked on either side by a pine tree, sacred to the Isthmian Games and the cult of Palaimon at Corinth. The abbreviated colonial legend is distributed in the field. |
