| Obverse description | Confronted jugate busts of Emperor Gordian III, laureate, draped and cuirassed, facing right and seen from the front, and the god Sarapis, draped and wearing a modius (kalathos) on his head, facing left; a cornucopia appears behind the bust of Sarapis. The imperial legend surrounds the busts along the periphery of the flan. |
