| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gallienus facing right, depicted from the rear in the so-called 'heroic' perspective typical of late Roman provincial coinage. The imperial effigy displays paludamentum folds at the shoulder and segmented cuirass detailing. The encircling Latin legend names the emperor with his imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show typical provincial die wear consistent with mid-third-century Mysian mint production. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Parium, the old Milesian colony on the Propontis, maintained active civic bronze production well into the third century despite the catastrophic pressures of Gallienus's sole reign — a period marked by simultaneous usurpers, Alemannic incursions into Italy, and the breakaway Gallic Empire in the west. Provincial civic coinage from this stretch is frequently underrepresented in collections, not from low mintage but from indifferent ancient circulation and poor survival in the region's soil conditions.
The abbreviation string C G I H with the ARIPI formula reflects Parium's standard civic titulature compressed for die use — Colonia Gemella Iulia Hadriana Pariana — the Hadrianic honorific still proudly retained a century after its grant.
