A countermark is visible in the lower right field of the coin. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show significant wear consistent with extended circulation. |

Her foot rests upon a swimming river-god below, symbolising the city's relationship with local waterways. The reverse type is a common civic device for Nicaean bronze coinage of the Antonine period. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ appears in the field, identifying the issuing city. |
