Reverse description The personification of Provincia Dacia stands facing, head turned to the left, clad in military dress, holding a curved sword (falx) in one hand and two legionary vexilla (standards) in the other, symbolising the province's martial character and military establishment. To the lower left, an eagle stands facing right, and to the lower right, a lion stands facing left — emblems drawn from the emblems of Legio XIII Gemina and Legio V Macedonica, the two legions garrisoned in Dacia. The circumferential legend PROVINCIA DACIA with the date AN VIII (Year 8 of the Dacian provincial era) encircles the field within a beaded border.
