| Beschrijving keerzijde | Tyche, the personification of civic fortune, depicted standing facing with head turned to the left, wearing a kalathos (modius-shaped crown) upon her head. She holds a cornucopia in her left arm, symbolizing abundance, and a ship's rudder in her right hand, denoting governance and fate. The encircling ethnic legend in Greek identifies the issuing city. The type is a standard civic reverse employed by numerous Carian and Lydian cities under the Severan dynasty. |

Tabae was a Carian city of modest political standing, but its civic coinage under Severus Alexander reflects the broader Greek-speaking east's enthusiasm for local bronze issues during the Severan period — a practice tolerated and even encouraged by Rome as a pressure valve for regional monetary demand. The city sat in the Conventus of Alabanda, one of the judicial districts into which the Roman province of Asia was divided, and its coinages are correspondingly rare in any denomination.
The magistrate responsible for this issue has not been firmly identified from the surviving corpus.
