A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, partially incomplete or ligatured, reading ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΤΝ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟ, abbreviated for Autokrator Kaisar Marcus Antonius Gordianus. The flan is irregular, as is typical of civic bronze coinage struck in Asia Minor during the third century AD. |
