Pagae was a minor Megarid port town whose civic coinage output was sparse even by the standards of small Greek poleis under Roman administration. The reference number here places this among a handful of attributed types for the city — the ethnic legend itself appears in variant spellings across surviving examples, which has complicated die studies and attribution since the 19th century.
