The bust is shown with soft, unbearded features appropriate to the allegorical personification of the Roman Senate. The circular legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ ('Sacred Senate') is inscribed around the periphery of the flan. The die work reflects the competent provincial engraving tradition of Smyrna. |

| Descripción del reverso | Winged Nemesis standing facing right, her right hand raised to pluck or draw back the neckline of her chiton in the characteristic apotropaic gesture, while her left hand holds a bridle or cubit-rule, emblems of retribution and measure. The figure is rendered in full-length draped form with wings spread behind her shoulders, consistent with the Smyrnaean iconographic tradition for Nemesis during the reign of Commodus. The magistrate's name legend ϹΤΡ ϹΤΡΑΤΟΝΕ(Ι)ΚΙΑΝΟΥ is inscribed in the field, with the ethnic ϹΜΥΡΝΑΙ(ΩΝ) completing the legend around the periphery. |
