| Descripción del reverso | Two Nemeses standing facing each other in a symmetrical composition, each plucking at her chiton at the neckline in the characteristic gesture of the twin goddesses. The Nemesis to the left holds a bridle, symbol of restraint and retribution, while the Nemesis to the right holds a cubit rule (ell), emblematic of measured justice. The scene reflects the strong cult of the Nemeses at Smyrna, where the twin goddesses were especially venerated. The magistrate's legend is distributed around the field. |
